job vs product

Wal-Mart is again brought to attention by the protester in NYC. It's real controversial issues and even I can't pick a side. Wal-Mart is really well known as a store that sells cheap product. And in this time of recession which really is helping consumers to cut their budget. But at the same time its cutting down the jobs. Especially from the small business. Which is bad because there been a lot of lay-off in 2010 but only 36,000 people were hired which shows the people need jobs. But I think there is too much need but less option on one hand people want cheap product, and they also need job. Therefore I say 50-50.

  1. I think it depends on the neighborhood needs.
therefore, if the neighborhood doesn't really have small stores, wal-mart could benefit the people around.

  4. I think everything have both negative and positive sides. Like Wal-Mark, it helps people to cut their budget, but also cut down the jobs.

  5. I think that instead of more benefit Wal-mart is harming our society. Even though there are selling cheap stuff but if people don't have work, they don't have money how are they going to buy stuff from Wal-mart than. But yes on the other hand its benefits those who have money to buy cheap stuff.

  6. @ Ling and @ Mehreen
i agree it's really controversial. for me it actually it depends on which side you stand on, if you in a financial problem Wal-mart are the angle but if you are in the financial problem because of job trouble they are the devil.

  7. Yeah! I agree with Mehreen's comment because if people do not have jobs and incomes, even though the cost is being low, people still cannot buy any low price products.
